ANALYSIS:

Traditional carts vs equipment pendants

The market is split; 50% of theatres use traditional carts, 50% use pendants.

Neither is a complete solution:

  • Traditional carts have good mobility, but the cables they require raise OHS concerns and need to be positioned close to power, gas and video services within theatre 

  • Equipment pendants don’t require floor cabling, but have only restricted coverage within theatres. The diagram below shows how an equipment pendant is limited to a circle of only 10m² within a theatre of 60m².
